Branding
What is Branding ?
In short, your brand is the way your customer perceives you. It is critical to be aware of your brand experience and have a plan to create the brand experience that you want to have. A good brand doesn't just happen, it's a well thought-out strategic plan.
Branding goes way beyond just a logo or graphic element. When you think about your brand, you really want to think about your entire customer experience…everything from your logo, your website, your social media experiences, the way you answer the phone, to the way your customers experience your staff. When you look at this broad definition of branding, it can be a bit overwhelming to think about what is involved.

Why is Branding Important?
Branding is about creating a perception of you or your company that you want people to have. The reality is that the perception your brand creates has a direct impact on the money your business makes. It affects the type of clients you attract and the amount of money you can charge. If you are perceived as low-cost or you aren’t able to charge the prices you think are necessary then branding can elevate people’s perceptions of you, allowing you to charge premium prices. Good Branding increases your perceived value, therefore increasing your revenue.

Branding Guide Examples
The following documents were created for Walker Tape Company, a family-owned business for the last 30 years. Until recently Walker Tape had never formally branding their company, so needless to say their style and images were all over the place and out-dated. The creative director was in the process of updating and re-branding when I was brought on board to create Branding Style Guides for their three divisions, two are shown below. These Branding Guides are to be followed for all future creative work and advertising so that the company's look and feel will remain consistent throughout all web, digital and print materials. The company was thrilled with the results!
